Sandra Kay (Sandy) Arnette

Sandra (Sandy) Kay Arnette of Hickory NC went home to be with the LORD Friday, May 12, 2023 at Bluefield Regional Hospital, Bluefield, WV from a heart attack. She was born July 14, 1965 in Beckley, WV. the daughter of Alfred Buster Clendenin & Edith Joy Jarrell Clendenin (Joy). Sandy was a member of Fresh Oil Ministries Church. She was a former Furniture Machine Operator for 12 yrs. at Burns Wood Products in Granite Falls NC. Most recently she ran an at home childcare where she was dearly loved by her great nephew Nicholas & great niece Madelynn to whom she quickly became "Mamaw" Sandy". She was deeply loved & adored by her granddaughters Sadie & Kaylee. Sandy was loved by many for her fun nature & loving personality, especially the Burnside Family who loved her as a daughter & dear friend. Sandy loved to share her homemade peanut butter cookies with neighbors & friends and was known for her delicious homemade slaw & potato salad for church events. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Ray Arnette, her grandson Kameron Combs, her father, Alfred Clendenin, two brothers Howard & Timmy Clendenin, a sister Tena Bufferine & other relatives. Besides her mother, Sandy is survived by her son Joshua McCoy (Brandy) of Hickory NC, her daughter Jessica Combs (Shelby) of Hickory NC, granddaughters Sadie McCoy, & Kaylee Combs, her Siblings Larry Clendenin of Wardensville WV, Debra Persinger of Shady Springs WV, Donna Crawford of Stickney WV, James Clendenin (Kristy) of Hickory NC, Becky Bailey of Hickory NC, & Cindy Evans (Tom) of Lake Wylie SC, numerous nephews & nieces. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May19, 2023 at 1:00 in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville with Pastors David & Tammy Pettry (Fresh Oil Ministries, Hickory NC) officiating. Interment will follow in the Persinger-Clendenin Cemetery Rock Creek, WV. The visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
