With heavy hearts, we remember the love and life of Shirley Ann Taylor, who left us on Sunday October 6, 2024. Born on January 26, 1947 in Arnett, West Virginia to Millard and Mary Taylor, Shirley devoted her life to being a remarkable mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose love knew no bounds. Shirley radiated beauty both inside and out. Her charm was complemented by an extraordinary sense of humor that her equally sarcastic family cherished immensely. A girl of simple pleasures, Shirley enjoyed her cozy pajamas, warm slippers, sweets, and pretty things. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her family, never missing a birthday, holiday, milestone, or celebration. We will miss her warmth and her fiercely nurturing spirit. We will miss her hugs and her infectious laugh. We will remember her in the smell of hot coffee, in biscuits and gravy, in pink nail polish, and in our hearts forever as our beloved “Mawmaw Shirley.” Shirley Ann Taylor is preceded by her Mommy and Daddy Millard and Mary Taylor, brother Roger Taylor, and nephews Marty, Cameron, and Jason Taylor. Shirley is survived by her brothers Cledith Taylor (Judy) and James Taylor (Pam), sisters Nancy Ely and Tammy Murdock, children Anita Lemon, Terina Daniel (Chris Bowels), and Eddie Daniel, grandchildren Kim Jarrell, Kerry Jarrell (Charlene), Shelby Gray (Makennah), Jesse Daniel, Shae Stavrakis, and Savana Stavrakis, great-grandchildren Justin Hurte, Camden Evans, Trevor Jarrell, Eli Gray, and Hudson Gray, along with numerous loving nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday October 15th at Armstrong Funeral Home with a private viewing for family 12-1pm, friends are welcome 1-2pm. Graveside service will be held at 3pm at the Cook/Lemon Cemetery on Posey Saxon Rd. Arnett, WV with Pastor Benny Cozart officiating.
