Tommy Ray Adkins, 69, of Orgas, WV formerly of Madison Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2024, at CAMC Hospital in Charleston, WV after a sudden illness. He was born on April 2, 1955, at Cincinnati, OH the son of the late Fred and Martha “Chambers” Adkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Mellissa Gail Adkins May his wife of 48 years, Lena Mae Maynard Adkins; a brother, Wayne Adkins; two sisters, Martha Chambers Toler and Betty Dotson. Tommy absolutely loved to fish and ride his golf cart around; his best friend was his granddaughter which he adored Monica White. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Misty Dawn Thompson “Kenny” his granddaughters, Anita Travis Vance of Seth and Monica Page White of Beckley, Ashlee Levi Chapman of Sylvester, Mackenzie Tyson Preece of St Albans; his great-great granddaughters, Brooklyn Baldwin, Arianna Baldwin, Adalyn Tuner, Nathan Chapman, Nivie Chapman, Jaxon Parish, Penelope Preece, Amelia Preece, his brothers, Rush Adkins of Earling, WV, Pete Adkins of Hollywood, CA and Billy Joe Adkins of Ashland, Ky, a sister, Linda Perry and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles along with a host of friends. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to Misty Thompson at 30130 Coal River Rd. Orgas, WV 25148 to help with funeral cost. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Tommy wanted to be beside his wife on Madison Creek and that is where his ashes will be layed to rest.
