Tommy Edward Collins, 72, of Rock Creek, WV passed away, Monday, January 3, 2022 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV with his wife, and children by his side. Born Jan. 15, 1949 the son of the late June and Thelma Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry, Gary, and Jimmy Collins. Tommy had a Business Degree from Beckley College, served in the U.S. Army and worked in the coal mines for 35 years. He loved playing with his grandchildren and was a loving husband, father, and friend. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Jenny: daughters, Janie McKinney (Travis) of Clayton, NC, Kristen August (Steve) of Rock Creek, WV and son, Thomas Collins (April) of Rock Creek, WV; grandchildren, Dustin Gyovai and Jaxon McKinney of Clayton, NC, Madeline and Bailey August and Meadow Collins of Rock Creek, WV; sister, Bonnie Janney of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law, Myrtle Collins of Cleveland, OH and many other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, January 7, 2022 at one o’clock in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV with Rev. Danny Pettry officiating.
