Willis Leigh Jenkins

Willis Leigh Jenkins,61, of Rock Creek, WV gained his angel wings on June 29, 2023 and joined his late son, John in Heaven. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara Jenkins and son, John Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Christina Jenkins of Rock Creek, WV. In laws, Bob and Catherine Stewart of Culpeper, VA, sons, David Stewart of Boston, VA, Daughter, Shilo Stewart of Boston, VA, son, Ricky ”Jessica” Jenkins of Charlottesville, VA, grandkids, Brandon Hailey, Justin, Levi, and Gabriel; brothers, Steve “Barbara” Jenkins of Lignum, VA, Jay ”Debbie” Jenkins of Manassas, VA, Lewis Jenkins of Oklahoma;  sister, Janet Warner of Manassas, VA, brother-in-law, Jeff “Pam” Stewart of Woodstock, VA and Tim “Laura” Stewart of Manassas, VA. Best friends, Ronnie and Teresa Lucas of Lester, WV, and our extended family and friends in WV, that surrounded us and so much love and support, numerous, nephews, and nieces. A huge thank you to the wonderful Hospice nurses, Staci Isaacs, Angela Bonds and Amber Lilly. Willis was the most amazing husband, father, Paw Paw, brother, uncle and friend. Together with his soulmate for 37 years and married for 28 years, retired from Fairfax County Public Schools after 27 years, mastering his trade of carpentry and doing what he loved. He was known to be handy and always building something out of wood. He spent his days with his wife, listening to his favorite music and enjoying their dream home. He gave his heart to God on Feb 5, 2023 and was baptized on June 25, 2023, singing Amazing Grace and giving all the glory to God. Willis will be remembered as a man with a big heart, willing to help anyone in need, his big smile and infectious laugh. He will be missed dearly by so many. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon July 9, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Dameron Church, Dameron, at 2549 Coal River Rd Glen Daniel, WV 25844; Visitation will be 2 hours before the service at the church with Pastor Ronnie Hall. Burial will follow in the Clay Cemetery, Dameron, WV. Pallbearers, David Stewart, Ronnie Lucas, Jeff Stewart, Tim Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Tyler Stewart, Jordan Lucas, and Caleb Lucas.
